Come join our global category management team and make a difference

As our new Regional Category Manager, you will be heading up the strategic an operational efforts around selected categories within EMEA region. Along with cross-regional colleagues you will play a significant role in identifying business requirements, assessing market trends, and negotiate contracts that deliver the best possible value for the organization.

Are you passionate about leading efforts to achieve business excellence with a sustainability perspective?

In close collaboration with other regions you will drive alignment and build strong and sustainable strategies for own managed categories, aiming to optimize our sourcing, drive cost savings, and enhance supplier relationships.

Like all companies, we to have a responsibility to reduce the emissions and waste our operations create and the amount of resources we use. Doing this while achieving our growth targets, will be a challenge that we also want you to help us deal with whether it being driving reductions in our CO2 emissions, moving away from hazardous raw materials or radically reducing our waste.

Specifically You Can Look Forward To

  • Deliver savings through ongoing market tracking and in collaboration with other procurement colleagues, R&D function and other stakeholders
  • Continuously challenge opportunities, regionally or cross regionally, to deliver on targets
  • Manage supplier relationship in an international business environment
  • Secure internal alignment across regions, on supplier and raw material level
  • Negotiate and decide strategy with focus on best cost level, TCO mindset, whilst mitigating potential risk elements, such as quality, availability and sustainability
  • Keep track of market developments
  • Collaborate cross functionally to understand and support Hempels business requirements
  • Support key elements of Hempel’s overall Operations strategy, e.g., the Sales & Operations Planning process.

This role will report to Procurement Director, EMEA, but as we are a global company benefitting from hybrid work model, you can be based in either Denmark, UK, Germany or Spain.

What brings you to success in this role?

We imagine you to have a minimum of three years of category management experience within sourcing of commodities, preferably with global exposure and within the chemical industry . Equally important will be your personality and your ability to liaise with key stakeholders around the organisation.

Besides That, You Also Need

  • Analytical skills – enojoy doing number crunching and demonstrate business understanding
  • Financial analytical skills – you will have total cost of ownership
  • Strong communication skills – oral and written and skilled negotiator
  • Fluent in English (oral, written).
