Job Description

Location: Homebased (UK)Company: BASF Metals LtdWorking Hours: Full timeContract Type: PermanentWorking Area: ProcurementResponsibilities

  • Provide professional Global Procurement expertise to manage all divisional outsourced and corporate global contracts according to our guidelines. This needs to be in cooperation with the divisional Procurement organisation and associated stakeholders
  • You will lead a focussed team to conduct major contract negotiations for the entire group, engaging with multiple global stakeholders and partners
  • Develop and implement Supplier management concepts (negotiations, innovation, development, meetings, sourcing, assessment) as well as providing market intelligence.
  • As part of the Procurement leadership team you will contribute to divisional, departmental and site future planning, performance and drive EBIT, providing transparency on progress, opportunities and solutions to challenges
  • You will manage and challenge requirements as a partner and deliver site needs, Procurement and business unit targets. You will also work with the Site Buyer/Operational Officer community to ensure price validity and contract availability in all necessary sites
  • Act in a way to develop and support “one team” approach throughout our division, Business Unit and procurement regions

Qualifications / Skills

  • You will have 5 years Procurement Buying / category management experience, with demonstrable major Project & Outsourcing negotiation & implementation experience
  • Educated to degree level with professional purchasing qualifications i.e CIPS level 6 or equivalent
  • Successfully able to work as part of professional teams and manage a demanding customer base and progressive workload
  • Critical thinker who has a proactive and solution oriented mindset and strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills including influencing and negotiating
  • Some global travel required
  • Fluent in English
