As HR Advisor in a large scale retail focussed role with 1700 employees you will help achieve business goals and objectives by providing an operational HR support service to managers and employees across the AkzoNobel UK business with a focus on Employee Relations cases. You will help manager deal with front line employee issues from managing ER cases and providing disciplinary advise, to coaching managers to make balanced decisions. You will draft and implement HR policies and procedures where required, including updates to reflect changes in employment law. A key member of the HR Operations team, you will also improve the capacity of management by developing a suite of guides and supporting documentation to enable managers to manage people processes more effectively. Important too will be the ability to proactively manage your caseload.

Customer focussed you will have experience of delivering generalist HR services in a shared services environment and are comfortable coaching and challenging managers. Quick to build trust you will have strong influencing skills and excellent knowledge of Employment Law. You will be able to understand complex issues and suggest practical and creative solutions too. A good communicator you will be also familiar with HR systems, have an eye for detail and enjoy juggling changing priorities in a fast moving environment. Experience of using a case management system and again a strong knowledge of Employment Law is preferred as would be Level 5/7 CIPD – although solid proven experience in this area is most important to us.
