Job Description

Working within the Supply Chain & Logistics Department the Warehouse Team Leader will be key in supporting the Warehouse Manager and Supervisor, ensuring that the warehouse runs smoothly. The role will provide support with any issues that might arise and pick up issues with other departments.

The Warehouse Team Leader will assist in the day-to-day warehouse operation runs effectively at all times and that the warehouse achieves the objectives and KPI’s set out by the Warehouse Manager. You will provide on-going support to internal teams in making sure that goods are handled with care and, orders are fulfilled on time, making sure that the customer is at the heart of everything we do.


Key duties will involve:

  • Allocate and supervise daily tasks in all areas within warehouse focusing on outbound areas
  • Monitor the quality of the work that our warehouse operatives carry out and make sure that our products are handled correctly in line with company training and H&S guidelines
  • Plan the shift resource with the supervisor and monitor workload throughout the shift to make sure our vehicles are loaded on time
  • Support with daily structured team briefs so that everybody is aware of what they need to do
  • Motivate and support all direct reports
  • Investigate errors in scanning and other issues
  • Help with following our HR processes in a fair and consistent way including investigations, grievances, disciplinary meetings, performance management and appraisals
  • Promote H&S Culture by ensuring that employees work in a way that reduces risk. A good understanding of H&S legislation is preferable.
  • Lead and Drive continuous improvement including 5s


Experience required:

  • An in-depth understanding of warehouse operations
  • Experience in leading and motivating a workforce
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines
  • Understanding of working in an environment with daily fluctuating workloads
  • FLT License preferred however willing to go through training

Hours of work:

An average of 39.33 hours over 4 days a week across a rotating 6 week shift pattern

Warehouse Team Leader Grade (£11.20 per hour)
