This Technical Service Representative position with AkzoNobel is the opportunity you are ready for. Home to some of the UK’s favourite brands, we are now recruiting a Technical Service Representative to provide a sound technical service for our Marine & Protective Coatings customers in Scotland.

The Role

  • Consult with customers, from ship owners to coating contractors, regarding the quality & application of paint, ensuring all parties understand & agree on painting requirements
  • Advise on paint specification, provide recommendations for preparation & application
  • Ensure the timely delivery of paint & collection of returns
  • Ensure paint is applied in acceptable conditions & according to specification
  • Maintain documents & produce customer reporting
  • Coach & train colleagues
  • Follow set processes & work safely

About You

  • Experience in a technical service, or marine supervisory/ QC environment
  • Experience in the marine industry, especially in ship building & repair
  • Good at resolving problems & prioritising activities
  • Committed customer focus
  • Excellent communication, negotiation & interpersonal skills
  • Enjoys a collaborative working environment where supporting colleagues is key
  • NACE/ Frosio certification an advantage
  • Professional HSE accreditation an advantage
  • For Health & Safety reasons you must be a good swimmer
