Taking a lead role, at Board level, in all matters technical
Technical service both on-site and by telephone/email relating to specifications or customer complaints
Maintaining knowledge of market trends within the company’s market sector
Maintaining compliance with regulatory matters concerning labelling, transport, safety data etc.
Managing existing technical staff including R&D Chemist

Knowledge/Qualifications/Skill/Aptitude:	Essential	Desirable
Knowledge and experience of paint and coatings chemistry	x
Knowledge and experience of paint and coatings industry and markets	x
First degree level in relevant subject		x
Able to deal rapidly and effectively with conflicting priorities	x
Able to respond effectively to deal with rapidly changing situations.	x
Able to assess risks/benefits in the wider setting
Capable of analytical thinking to solve problems	x
Capable of agile and lateral thinking to solve problems	x
Able to demonstrate an enquiring mind		x
Able to communicate clearly and concisely in all settings	x
Able to lead group sessions on relevant issues	x
Comfortable working alone, in groups and in meetings	x
Able to build and maintain relationships within the company and with suppliers and customers.	x
Demonstrates a tidy and ordered approach to work		x
