Job Description

HMG is currently seeking a dedicated Specialist Warehouse Operative working within the QA Department. The successful candidate will need to be flexible, have the ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. They will also be able to meet deadlines, be self-motivated, have good communication skills, and be a team player. The role involves assisting the Quality Department within the responsibilities related to picking and despatching Defence orders and to support the QA department with customer complaints whilst working in alignment with HMG Paints operating procedures and health and safety policies.

Hours: 38.75 per week (7.15am – 4.00pm Monday to Thursday & 7.15am – 1.00pm Fridays)

Principle Duties And Responsibilities

  • Picking items from the warehouse or other areas denoted by picking lists.
  • Checking picked items prior to packing to ensure correspondence with customer orders.
  • Packing items securely and within the legal requirements of the product description.
  • Registering orders on carrier that is applicable to order size.
  • Fulfilling invoices on SAP accurately to correspond with order that has been picked.
  • Transporting consignments from inside the warehouse to the loading outside the warehouse.
  • Working in compliance with rules relating to safety, quality and productivity in carrying out your duties.
  • Reporting any damage to packages/containers immediately to the Warehouse Manager
  • To ensure all Warehouse areas are left tidy, safe and secure after each work period.
  • To strive for continuously improving standards of performance in all aspects of the activities associated with your job.
  • The role will require day to day contact with Warehouse/QA Staff to discuss despatch related queries.
  • The role will require day to day contact with other HMG Staff including sales, production operatives and van drivers to discuss order, product, or delivery queries.
  • To complete Certificates of Conformance relating to orders.
  • Liaising with staff from other departments as appropriate.
  • Keep up to date with the products and product changes.
  • Assist in the development of the department.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer complaints, recording the details of the issue on the complaints on Salesforce.
  • Investigating the complaint, retrieving, and organising samples and conducting tests.
  • Investigate internal complaints and procedures.

Skills And Experience

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • IT Skills. (SAP, ABI).
  • FLT (Counterbalance), Reach Truck, Picking Truck licences (Preferred but not essential).Previous experience of working in a similar role is an advantage but not essential as training will be given
  • Able to work in a methodical orderly and tidy manner
  • Good attendance and punctuality record

  • Be able to follow Health & Safety Regulations

For this role, full training will be given.
