Senior Project Chemist

£33,000 – £46,000 per annum depending on experience

A graduate in a Science subject and with extensive real world experience in a R&D environment, you are looking to develop your career in a business that offers roles with breadth, depth of scope and impact. As Portfolio Leader you will head a range of small mono-disciplinary projects covering developing new products and technologies, testing and supporting of existing technologies, products and processes or building a fundamental understanding of key coating attributes. Whatever project you are involved in you will need to identify risks and barriers to successful delivery within work and propose recommendations for resolution in order to manage the risk. You will ensure work is carried out on time as well as report outcomes, share findings and make recommendations. You will oversee stakeholder relationships too. We will also look to you to contribute to idea generation as well as encourage idea generation in others. Important will be the ability to maintain the highest safety standards in the lab and follow established procedures.

To succeed, you will possess degree, ideally Chemistry, or extensive relevant industrial experience. An effective project manager, you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to prioritise and multitask. Good at building relationships and solving problems, you will enjoy being part of a team and understand the importance of working safely too.
