About the role
To support our ever-growing business, we are looking for an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our leadership team. As the Sales Manager your key focus will be on promoting our range of antimicrobial additives via a consultative sales process to a diverse range of global manufacturing industries. In this role, you will engage in the entire sales process from prospecting potential clients to contracting final agreements and supporting the fulfilment of our services. The sales team interacts with cross-departmental colleagues to work as one, developing strong, reliable relationships with clients, while contributing to the development and design of our products.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the right candidate will have the following responsibilities:
- Identify and prioritise key markets.
- Meet targets established by sales forecasts for allocated products, plan and execute the sales activities to deliver the forecasts.
- Key account management
- Negotiate and agree contracts within assigned limits of authority.
- Make presentations to both external and internal customers.
- Liaise with our global network of agents and distributors.
- Liaise with and advise other functional departments as necessary to ensure the business’ output is customer focussed, timely and to an appropriate quality.
- Represent/act as an ambassador for the business at all levels (working levels to senior hierarchies)
- Manage/appoint sales agents and/or distributors as necessary.
- Collate reports for monthly meetings to clearly show progress against plan.
- Attend conferences and exhibitions, meeting with customers and partners, including travel abroad when required.
Who we are looking for
To succeed in this role, you will have experience with technically formulated products in one or more of our end markets such as powder coatings, liquid paints, plastics, performance textiles or ceramics.
You will have a strong work ethic, be solution orientated, proactive and flexible, whilst maintaining a structured approach. You will also need to commit to mentoring, developing and coaching your sales team. You will be expected to lead by example, and the role will require you to be hands-on, as you will have your own individual targets to achieve as well as driving the sales team to achieve and exceed the expected results.
As the ideal candidate, you exhibit a natural, positive attitude and an interest in meeting and working with people. A motivated self-starter, organised with managing schedules, facilitating meetings or conference calls, and have a competency around setting and achieving goals. You are well regarded as being an excellent communicator, as well as maintaining strong relationships with a variety of industry clients.
The role is all about hitting targets and making the most of your relationship building skills to help you grow a pipeline of new prospects, increase sales revenue and to establish new customer partner accounts. The role will also require you to operate as part of the wider management team.
A commutable home location near our head office location in Coventry is essential.
Knowledge or experience of antimicrobial additives and antimicrobial performance testing is desirable.
