We are currently looking for a dynamic individual to join our People & Development team as a Retail Sales Trainer. We are offering this position on a full-time basis, working remotely/field based. Established in Dorset in 1946, we have grown over the last 75 years and now proudly have 60 showrooms worldwide with a global network of stockists.The key to our success is the people behind the paint: from the team handcrafting each tin to showroom staff to support functions, our shared passion ensures customers have a positive, engaging experience at every stage of their journey with us.As the Retail Sales Trainer you will be supporting to increase levels of sales performance, confidence, and capability within our Global showrooms & CS teams, supporting our 5* retail sales strategy to continually improve our consumers experience in the direct channel. This will be achieved by delivering formal sales training and skills, which in turn will enable our Global showrooms & CS teams to contribute towards continued commercial business growth. The role will entail conducting training needs analysis and developing schedules of delivery, to meet the specific needs of both Global showrooms & CS teams, and by providing blended learning solutions.What we expect from you as a Retail Sales Trainer.Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting effective training needs analysis, ensuring that learning needs are captured and categorised to understand where best to invest time and support required
  • Delivering sales training using bespoke learning solutions across a range of media and platforms, to ensure that Showroom team members & CS team understand the F&B product range, enabling them to maximise selling opportunities with F&B consumers
  • Working collaboratively with Commercial Heads of, Regional Retail Managers, Global Customer Service Manager and L&D team, to understand business priorities
  • Improving training effectiveness by developing new approaches and techniques whilst making support readily available, thereby increasing engagement, and increasing sales performance
  • Co-developing a sales learning solution; reflecting the needs of each of the 4 global customer groups and catering to individual learning styles
  • Liaising with L&D Manager / Product and Technical Trainer / Regional Retail Managers to ensure that content is accurate and up to date
  • Designing, creating, managing training content & delivery schedule, aligned to Showroom CS needs
  • Delivering ‘train the trainer’ activity and providing Sales Coaching support to Showroom Managers & CS team leaders as required
  • Supporting at key events, such as F&B Conferences
  • Auditing of product training material – owning, and maintaining a version control process
  • Monitoring effectiveness of training through robust systems of evaluation and reporting on the effectiveness of training to ensure consistency and relevance
  • Tracking training activity and recording key data, ensuring that audit trails and training history are complete and up to date, including cancellation and evaluation data
  • Promoting learning activity through a variety of media, both face to face and virtual

  • Demonstrable understanding of the learning and development discipline, including training needs analysis, design, delivery, validation, and evaluation, as well as an understanding of best practice
  • Excellent verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to deliver training in a passionate and engaging manner both face to face and virtually
  • A confident and credible presenter, able to create impact and engage different audiences
  • Exceptional organisational skills with proven ability to prioritise workload
  • E-learning authoring experience/capability an advantage
  • Customer centric, focused on delivering and developing a culture that leads to exemplary service levels for our consumers, via creative solutions.
  • Effective communicator: able to build relationships and motivate others
  • Action and solution orientated with drive, flexibility and adaptability to different environments and varying priorities/objectives
  • Team player, able to work collaboratively and cross-functionally.
  • Full and clean driving licence
