Job Description
Job Purpose:

  • To oversee and advise on the maintenance and regulatory compliance of the product portfolio
  • To lead and manage activities to ensure Bartoline meets regulatory requirements of the product portfolio
  • To ensure Bartoline is advised of the necessary requirements from upcoming legislation and acts upon future / forthcoming regulatory requirements in a timely manner
  • To improve Bartoline’s reporting capabilities to provide third-party and / or customer requested regulatory information in an efficient (automated / IT based) manner
Key accountabilities:

  • Direct and undertake the preparation and submission of regulatory agency applications, reports or technical documentation
  • Develop regulatory strategies and implementation plans for the preparation and submission of all necessary data to meet upcoming legislative requirements including where a holding position currently applies
  • Develop regulatory strategies and implementation plans for the preparation and submission of all necessary data to meet legislative requirements for new products
  • Supervise and undertake communication with regulatory agencies to ensure responses are provided in timely manner
  • Supervise and undertake communication with customers to provide responses in a timely manner concerning regulatory impacts, classifications etc of Bartoline and third-party brand products and associated raw materials / ingredients.
  • Review supporting documentation for accuracy and conformity with the applicable regulation or directive including third-party supplied / sourced documentation
  • Provide regulatory guidance to departments regarding development, evaluation, or marketing of products
  • Maintain a broad awareness of the relevant legislation specific to the product portfolio and the requirements for product compliance
  • Communicate regulatory information to interested parties within the business and provide the aligned interpretation to enable action where necessary
  • Monitor regulatory affairs activities and provide a periodic (bi-monthly) summary report with recommended actions where applicable
  • Proactively builds relationships externally and internally
  • Contributes to the continuous process improvements and inspection readiness for both internal and external process reviews/audits
  • Providing advice and support during the conceptual and development phase of new products

Experience & Skills to be successful:

  • Experience of paints, coatings, consumer chemicals
  • Good understanding of REACH regulations & other legislative landscapes

Ideal qualifications for the role:

  • Graduate in related chemistry
  • Chemical regulation related training desirable
  • Relevant experience in regulatory affairs environment
