Job Overview

Summary:

  • The Regional Process Engineer is responsible for supporting the facilities in the region in designing, formalising and executing the process requirements at each facility. The regional process engineer works closely with various manufacturing or distribution sites to understand the needs of the products or operation and determine the best way to process the products through the operation. This resource will work together with Engineering and other CI personnel to ensure the proper process implantation and documentation at each facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Define process requirements for control and automation systems
  • Assist sites with analysis and improvement of current processes
  • Assist sites with scoping of CI projects
  • Assist with process level documentation for execution of Oracle, Watson, etc
  • Assist with definition of training execution to deliver value to the plants
  • Voice of process; define process requirements according to R&D, manufacturing, technical team
  • Hold design reviews for projects
  • Assist with scale up of formulas to deliver effective scale up into production at facilities
  • Collaborate with facilities on the implementation of the SWK program, specifically the SOP pillar to ensure the standardisation of the documentation
  • Support the sites in developing long term/5 yr plans
  • Review implementation requirements to understand site personnel or resource requirements and negotiate with the involved areas
  • Build and lead the implementation plans for each specific facility with regards to the process definition requirements
  • Assist facilities with process issues as needed
  • Analyses production work trends to identify opportunities for standardisation and definition of processes
  • Reviews completed work for compliance with requirements and suggests improvements or changes when needed
  • Works with contractors to improve tool or skill availability for process definitions
  • Promote and share of best practices – a key aspect of the regional team
  • Drive towards standardisation where at all possible to ensure better sharing of equipment, parts and knowledge going forward
  • Creates reports for sites/regions as needed through the analytics tools like OBIEE or Business Objects
  • Audit sites for certification or sustainability of the defined standard processes

Requirements:

  • Organised. Excellent communication skills. Goal oriented. Team player.
  • Project management skills will be critical to ensure coordination of the projects with the facilities
  • Continuous improvement background (Six Sigma or Lean)
  • Previous experience in the coatings or chemical industry would be preferred
  • 50%+ travel required
