There are 2 Technical Assistant positions available to support delivery of R&D projects in a number of important market segments ranging from infrastructure to transport and renewable energy.
Job Purpose
Working on a range of Research & Development projects for the Marine & Protective Coatings industries, you will support activities in one or more of the following areas; developing new products and technologies, developing a fundamental understanding of key coating attributes or testing/supporting existing technologies, products and processes.
Job Responsibilities
- Uses best practice/past solutions to design, develop, carry-out, evaluate & interpret experiments.
- Carry out experimental & standard paint manufacture, QA, testing & application.
- Manage the planning & day to day requirements for assigned projects/support activities.
- Collate results & produce reports.
- Make recommendations for next steps & communicate key results to colleagues.
- Conduct, participate & evaluate trials/inspections.
- Help identify improvement needs & generates ideas for improvement activities/projects.
- Work safely & comply with legal & company regulations.
Job Requirements
- Secondary education & 6 BCF Level 3, NACE 1, City & Guilds equivalent.
- Experience working in a busy laboratory.
- Competent in practical coatings skills, e.g. coatings manufacture, QA, testing & application.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
