Job Overview
Summary:
  • Assist the quality assurance team in maintaining a program of quality assurance activities by ensuring that the products manufactured and supplied by the business are safe, legal and meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Based at our Plymouth site and reporting to the Plant Quality Manager the successful applicant will become a key member of the QA team, responsible for undertaking routine testing of raw materials, product batches and finished products
  • Working to and maintaining quality procedures, you will troubleshoot quality issues within manufacturing, conducting duties appropriate to your role under the direction of the QA manager
Responsibilities:
  • Carry out routine testing of raw materials, product batches and finished
  • To carry out all training required to meet the requirements of the role to effectively and efficiently maintain the quality parameters to specification
  • Carry out quality auditing and maintenance of the quality systems
  • Calibration of laboratory equipment to BS ISO9001 requirements
  • Carry out general laboratory maintenance/ordering of QA consumables
  • Work in accordance with health and safety regulations
  • To carry out other duties appropriate to the post under the direction of the QA team leader/QA manager i.e. chemical oxygen demand test; basic queries re quality, packaging, filling line issues etc.
Requirements:
  • A sound education to GCSE standard or equivalent (ideally including chemistry)
  • Skilled in MS office applications
  • Attention to detail whilst undertaking QA work in a tidy and timely fashion
  • Methodical approach
  • Good written and oral communicator
  • Demonstrable numeracy and analytical skills
  • A professional, amenable approach with good attention to detail
  • A highly motivated self starter who can demonstrate initiative
Preferred:
  • Proven track record of successfully working as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a laboratory environment
  • Previous technical experience and knowledge of sealant manufacture is beneficial, however full training will be given
