About the Role:An opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader working within the Aerotube Department. The successful candidate will support the departmental manager with daily responsibilities and deputise them during their absence. They will prioritise Health & Safety within department and lead by example to ensure all members of the department comply with all operating systems and procedures in order to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
Working Hours: 39 per week Monday to Friday (7.15am – 4.00pm Monday – Thursday & 7.15am – 1.00pm Friday)
Deputising Responsibilities
During periods of managerial absence, the Team Leader has various planning responsibilities as follows:
Planning customer requirements.
Monitoring order book.
Fulfilling customer orders in an efficient manner
That machines are in suitable condition and operated correctly.
Report issues with machinery, equipment, or buildings to maintenance.
Adherence to specified procedures within the department.
Employees comply with operating procedures (SSOW / RAMS)
Health & Safety practises.
Housekeeping including start-up and shut-down procedures.
Report accidents or incidents to the Health & Safety Manager with a recorded report of what happened.
Prevent unsafe working practises
Lead by example and be aware of the companies’ policies and procedures.
Complete back to work interviews, self-certifications, holiday forms, authorised absence etc.
Communicate with departmental manager to advise on any issues with staff performance.
Ensure adherence with the standards determined by procedures and company policies.
Resolve issues, answer internal and external enquiries.
General Responsibilities
Undergo training necessary for effective performance
Support Departmental Manager with staff training
Provide encouragement to team members, including communicating team goals.
Ensure company policies and procedure are adhered to, communicating issues, production queries, or employee council bulletins to departmental staff.
Monitor housekeeping
Listen to employee feedback and attempt to resolve any inter-personal issues.
Be flexible for working on automatic filling machine, labelling, crimping, and glue machines.
Strip and rebuild machines
Manual handling with weights up to 200 kilos
Packing paint into various sizes tins and into finished packaging.
Filling and packing and labelling aerosols which containing highly flammable gas.
Sock control of all packaging material.
Essential
Skills & Experience
- Understanding of all processes within the department.
- Understanding of production methods used within the department.
- Understanding of all raw materials
- Understanding of SSOW / RAMS documents.
- Static electricity.
- Manual handling.
- Knowledge of IT and HMG computer systems.
- Awareness of company handbook and how to look-up current policies.
- Communication Skills
- Literacy and numeration skills

- FLT Licence.
