Join us and become part of a talented team manufacturing trusted decorative coating productsWe have exciting opportunities for candidates to join our established manufacturing production team here at Crown Paints, which is a part of the Hempel Group, at our UK Manufacturing Plant based in Hull, East Yorkshire. Following significant recent investment to upgrade and modernise our manufacturing site we now have the best equipment and facilities to support achievement of our goals and meet our customers’ requirements. Crown Paints are at the heart of Hempel’s ambitious growth strategy and are looking for new people to join us in support of this.What can you expect as a Production Operative?Working upon Crown’s Hull site as part of this role, you will be working at the heart of our business, manufacturing, and filling the products for distribution through our logistics network and on to our customers.The roles we are looking to recruit for will initially be based within the Manufacturing part of the process so you must be comfortable working with the actual production of the paint into large scale tanks and mixers ready for the paint to be filled into its tins. There will be further opportunities to gain experience within the filling side of the operation to become a fully multi-skilled operative.Qualifications, Skills and Experience required to succeed in this roleThe ideal candidate would ideally have experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (FMCG) and be comfortable working with a wide range of automated machinery including high speed filling machines, packaging equipment and large volume mixers. Experience of touch screen controls such as HMIs and Scada systems would be a distinct advantage.You will also be required to meet production targets and follow standard operating procedures whilst ensuring quality in your work, therefore it is essential that you are organised and have great attention to detail. As an individual you will have a drive to succeed, a can-do attitude and be a great collaborator. Our staff often work flexibly across roles and areas, and we would wish for our new team members to do the same with training and support.What We OfferWe have vacancies which are a permanent night shift (Sunday to Thursday), and on a 2-shift rotating pattern (earlies & lates) working a 9-day fortnight.Successful candidates would join us initially on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract but if you exhibit the skills and aptitude then a permanent contract will follow, as would the opportunity for progression, which could be within the role and local business or with the wider company here in the UK or even globally within Hempel.We offer a competitive salary with a shift allowance and great benefits.Application and further informationIf you feel you have the required experience and want to join our team, please submit your application CV with a covering letter.
