Production Operative

Job Overview
  • Reporting to the Production Team Leaders, the main purpose is to undertake manufacturing duties within the designated area
  • Responsible for manufacturing product and for subsequent filling
  • This includes effectively handing materials and waste within the area and housekeeping for designated areas, while continually updating the team leaders on the overall performance of each asset
  • Also required to undertake other operational duties in conjunction with the production schedule
  • The manufacture of products in line with issued BMI's in order to satisfy production requirements
  • To carry out at an effective efficiency standard and achieve the production schedule
  • To update the scheduling boards as required
  • To promote a self-managing approach
  • To identify and communicate training and development needs to supervision and to coordinate training in conjunction with appropriate providers
  • To ensure that training delivered is translated into an appropriate standard of work following training
  • To monitor machine uptime and downtime and address concerns in a timely manner
  • All aspects of housekeeping inclusive of 5's, general keep up, patrol sheets and disinfecting
  • Cross cover and deputise for other operatives in case of absence and annual leave as required, as well as deputising in other areas as required
  • To act in line with Health, Safety, Environment and Quality standards and ensure protective clothing is worn at all times in designated areas
  • To liaise with Technical Services in order to overcome technical difficulties or in assisting with the introduction of new products and promote close working relationships with other departments
  • Educated to a GCSE/O levels standard
