About the job
Process Engineer
Provide process support to Shildon Operations and Supply Chain. Deliver improvements to existing processes, introduce new or modified processes, minimise process losses and waste.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement process improvements to support Strategic Improvement Initiatives such as Right First Time and Material Efficiency
- Implement process improvements to support Strategic Improvement Initiatives such as Right First Time and Material Efficiency
- Provide process support with batch issues, adjustments, quality hazards, rejects and complaints
- Support with laboratory testing and analysis to meet business needs
- Demonstrate a flexible approach and deputise for other team members where necessary
- Introduce new or modified processes and products, supervise batches where required
- Liaise cross-functionally and build good working relationships with others
- Introduce and modify process instructions, recipes, routings, costings, batch sizes etc using the Oracle system
- Provide process support with new and existing equipment
Qualifications
- A degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or equivalent is advantageous
- Understanding of working in a controlled laboratory environment to high standards
- Understanding of working in a manufacturing environment would be advantageous
- Experience of implementing improvement projects and problem solving would be beneficial
- Strong report writing and communication skills
- Experience with MRP systems such as Oracle or SAP would be advantageous
- Able to demonstrate efforts made towards CPD (continuing professional development)
