Painting & Decorating Apprentice

Dulux Academy

£4.62 per hour

Slough, Berks

Eager to learn and keen to develop a career in painting and decorating, you are looking to develop your career in a business that will encourage your input, welcome your ideas and act on them. That business is AkzoNobel. We are now looking for a good team player to support the Dulux Academy team deliver practical training activity by ensuring materials, equipment and rooms are prepared and ready for use.

The Dulux Academy is the home of painting and decorating excellence. Here a team of leading industry experts deliver courses that increase knowledge and understanding enabling professional decorators to meet their career ambitions. As Painting & Decorating Apprentice you will develop your skills repairing surfaces used within the Academy including stripping wallpaper, basic filling and sanding. You will also prepare training resources including application of coatings on doors, boards and within the Academy training rooms and room sets. You will use spray painting equipment, maintain tools and equipment as well as monitor stock levels and place reorders. Important will be the ability to work safely.

Keen to develop a career in painting and decorating you will be able to demonstrate a commitment to learning and ability to multitask and meet deadlines. You must also have GCSE’s in Maths and English (min grade D), good communication skills and flexible ‘can do’ attitude. You will be effective at teamworking and it would be beneficial if you are already enrolled on a Painting and Decorating course. You will attend college one day per week (Langley College if living local to Slough).
