Job Summary

This role is dedicated to the supervision of the supply chain and warehouse area.You will review, organise and develop systems and processes in order to achieve:

  • High Q-EHS standards within area
  • Effective planning and co-ordination of activities within the area
  • Effective supervisory control of all area activities
  • Understand and communicate deviations from the plan for the area for the day
  • Effective management of a small team of area staff
  • Effective planning and co-ordination with support functions
  • Understand and positively influence impact on internal customers of the department

To support the area managers in relation to management of the department and activities; coordinate procedures and work practices and quality standards.Support improvement activities in own area and other parts of the business, drive change and lead by example.

Communicate effectively to other departments to ensure that Beckers meet customer requirements.

Roles And Responsibilities

EHS & Quality

  • Apply and encourage good working practices around chemical handling in accordance with COSHH regulations and training
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s accident prevention policy, reporting incidents and near misses when observed, undertaking preventative actions wherever possible
  • Ownership of unsafe conditions within the area and actions to correct
  • Thorough record keeping ensuring full traceability of all operations
  • Ensure regular safety inspections of machinery and equipment present at site are undertaken and records are kept up to date, inclusive ofmaintenance and calibration of equipment
  • Ensure lock out/tag is used
  • Ensure necessary clean down of workspace and equipment to prevent contamination

Working Standards

  • Demonstrate high personal standards and visible leadership regarding Q-EHS
  • Preparation of workplace and equipment ready for daily activities
  • Review performance of area and make visible to others
  • Communicate performance of area to others
  • Step in to support activities when required to meet customer expectations
  • Develop and ensure delivery of a training plan to build on the skills of current production personnel and allow rapid contribution from new personnel
  • Be responsible for the development, collating and reporting of key quality and business metrics and use such metrics to drive a culture of continuous improvement
  • To make sure that all steps defined by SOPs, records and protocols are being executed
  • Involvement in reviewing and implementing SOPs and RAs
  • Ensuring area is prepared ready for activities; that all areas are clean, tidy and well organised, meeting 5S standards and in a state of continuous inspection readiness
  • Monitor and improve the teams efficiency and productivity using standards and KPIs and feed results back to management
  • Continuous improvement training implement job rotations improving skill sets

KPI

  • To manage local KPI’s analyse and establish improvement actions in line with business targets
  • On a day to day basis plan, co-ordinate area plans in order to deliver product to appropriate time, quality and costs
  • First line Management and ownership of area activities and metrics to meet targets expectations internally and externally

Communication and People Management

  • Provide constructive feedback to colleagues to support their personal development
  • Establish clear expectations regarding responsibilities, behaviours, and daily activities
  • Ensure visual management is kept up to date
  • Provide accurate and timely communication to all stakeholders when necessary, including pre-shift meetings, Team Briefs, and end of shift handovers
  • Provide continuous feedback to direct reports
  • Work with direct reports to improve overall service whilst driving efficiencies through process improvement and adopting best practices. Provide training and development opportunities for team members and ensure a safe work environment consistent with company values
  • Actively contribute to the development and maintenance of an enthusiastic, supportive and collaborative environment within the team setting; especially during times of additional pressure
  • Carrying out 1-2-1 conversation with direct reports regarding training and development

What Will You Need To Succeed

  • Proven leadership skills, leading by example, demonstrating high standards of behaviour, honesty and integrity
  • Be a confident, effective and challenging communicator, and be able to demonstrate a track record in leading teams to improve standards and efficiency in all areas
  • Management experience gained within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • A drive towards World Class Manufacturing and Operational Excellence
  • A proven track record of delegating, empowering, influencing and motivating people to achieve goals
  • Develop and support people through coaching and feedback to achieve excellence
  • Positive approach to self-development and achieving the skills required to fulfil the role

  • Flexible approach and a champion for change
  • Excel and Word Office experience

Job Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in similar role is preferable
  • Leadership skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet or exceed multiple deadlines
  • Flt licences- Reach Truck & Counterbalance preferred but not essential
