Purpose Of The Job

Manage delivery of equipment maintenance for the site in line with current business, operations and engineering strategies to ensure compliance with legal and HSE requirements; company standards; meeting the required budget, whilst meeting targets for equipment reliability and plant availability. Ensure full utilisation of the available labour resources through effective planning and scheduling of engineering work.

Key Accountabilities

  • Comply with site Emergency, Safety, Operational, Security, Quality and Environmental procedures relating to all Maintenance engineering/project/commissioning on site both and self and Reportees. Emphasis to be placed on safety management in engineering work, both in-house and by sub-contractors
  • Ensure all work is scheduled through utilization of the sites priority work matrix and agreed with the Maintenance Manager and the Production Manager
  • Plan thoroughly the maintenance work to be carried out on the site to ensure safe and efficient completion of all tasks (breakdown; planned maintenance; short maintenance outages and major shutdowns). Develop and implement weekly and monthly maintenance plans
  • Effective management of engineering work orders ensuring they are closed out in a timely fashion
  • Issue and manage PTW as appropriate for maintenance activities within your authorisation remit
  • Prepare monthly maintenance reports with specific reference to costs, performance KPI’s and continuous improvement
  • Support the development of equipment standardisation and critical spares policies for the site
  • Provide cover for the Maintenance Manager during periods of absence.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Planning and scheduling of engineering activities essential (ideally in SAP)
  • Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment essential
  • Sound understanding of other engineering disciplines
  • Effective communication skills at all levels
  • Competent range of IT skills ((Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP)
