It employs more than 5000 employees across over 40 sites and is listed on the London Stock Exchange.Job PurposeManage delivery of equipment maintenance and systems for the site in line with current business, operations and engineering strategies. To ensure compliance with legal and HSE requirements; company standards; meeting the required budget, whilst meeting targets for equipment reliability and plant availability. Ensure full utilisation of the available labour resources.Key Responsibilities

  • Comply with site Emergency, Safety, Operational, Security, Quality and Environmental procedures relating to all Maintenance engineering/project/commissioning on site both and self and Reportees. Emphasis to be placed on safety management in engineering work, both in-house and by sub-contractors
  • Ensure all work is scheduled through utilsation of the sites priority work matrix and agreed with the Reliabilities & Maintenance Manager and the Production Manager
  • Plan thoroughly the maintenance work to be carried out on the site to ensure safe and efficient completion of all tasks (breakdown; planned maintenance; short maintenance outages and major shutdowns)
  • Issue and manage PTW as appropriate for maintenance activities within your authorisation remit
  • Ensure all changes to plant, equipment or control systems (project work or modifications) are only carried out if the changes are covered by a fully authorised Management of Change
  • Manage selection of contractors and engineering supplier interfaces associated with work undertaken ensuring that no work is carried out without first obtaining a robust quote and raising a Purchase Order
  • Develop an annual review of contractor spend
  • Lead RCA’s and other investigations into repeat equipment failures
  • Conduct a monthly housekeeping audit to improve standards across the whole site through implementation and execution of 5C principles in all areas.
  • Assist with the development and control of the annual maintenance budgets for the site
  • Prepare monthly maintenance reports with specific reference to costs, performance KPI’s and continuous improvement
  • Support the development of equipment standardisation and critical spares policies for the site

Knowledge, Skills And Experience

  • 5 + years Mechanical or Electrical/Instrument Engineering experience within a chemical or related industry.
  • Sound understanding of other engineering disciplines
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Proven track record implementing effective improvement & development strategy for both processes and individuals
