Crown Paints has an exciting opportunity to recruit an experienced Logistics professional / analyst to join our team within Supply Chain, the role will report directly in to the Head of Logistics for UK & Ireland.

With multiple logistics centres across the UK & Ireland Crown Paints has two large distribution centres located at the manufacturing sites based in Hull and Darwen.

You will be responsible for analytical reviews of the current Logistics operation as managed by our third party logistics partners and working closely with commercial finance team you will develop cost effective customer focused logistics solutions to support the ever changing needs of our customers.

Your role will drive operational cost control and ensure that communication is optimised between Crown and our logistics partners, ensuring deliveries are received on time and within budgets.

Be at the heart of our organisation

You will provide costed Logistics to support the Crown Paints Commercial team and cover for the Head of Logistics in their absence. As such this role requires a keen eye for detail, good analytical skills and the ability to take a lead in data analysis and KPI reporting

A key aspect of this role will be to not only analyse and report KPI data but to support the Head of Logistics in delivering continuous improvement projects. Day to day hands on operational management of the logistics operation is performed by our 3rd party logistics partners therefore your role is more likely to involve managing client relations and the overall logistics performance.

In addition to the day to day activities the role has a wide ranging remit and will enable you to work across the business. Internally – Supply Planning, Production, Commercial, Customer Service. Externally – our Suppliers & Customers. You will make a difference to our customer experience by investigating and providing solutions to any customer complaints. This year, Hempel have embarked upon an exciting 5 year strategy to grow their business and your expertise and knowledge will drive an agile and integrated logistics solution to enable Crown Paints Supply Chain to have a competitive advantage and be the best it can!.

In addition to this we have an ambitious Sustainability programme that we are working hard to actively reduce Co2 emissions as well as some other great initiatives delivering a proactive and challenging target as part of our Hempel objectives.

Join a fast paced and exciting work environment

Our ideal candidate will already have previous experience of working in a fast paced logistics environment with proven analytical / managerial skills. With a can do attitude our ideal candidate will be ready to take on a new challenge.

You will be analytical and comfortable interpretating data and producing reports for the business therefore a good standard of PC literacy is required and you will be comfortable with all Microsoft Office applications. Experience of SAP or another ERP systems is essential.

You can be based at our offices at either Hull or Darwen; some travel will be required within the role between the sites and to meetings with our logistics partner.
