About the job

Empower Our Teams, Elevate Our Products, and Drive Our Success

Are you a transformational Learning and Development Manager with a passion for nurturing talent and driving business growth through innovative training programs? We are on a mission to redefine our L&D landscape, and we need your expertise to create a strategy that focuses on product and technical training, taking our business to new heights.

About Us

Crown Paints has a rich heritage spanning over a century, and we’re committed to delivering high-quality, innovative paint solutions that transform spaces. Our success is driven by our people, and investing in their growth is paramount to us. As we embark on a new era, we are looking for a Learning and Development Manager who can build a brighter future for our organisation.

The Opportunity

This is not your typical Learning and Development role. We’re offering a unique opportunity for a creative, driven, and forward-thinking individual to shape and mould our L&D strategy. You’ll have the autonomy to craft and develop our L&D offerings from the ground up, making a significant impact on our business’s future success. Ideally you will be based in our Head Office in Darwen, with elements of travel out to our store network across the UK and Ireland.

What You Will Do

  • Strategic Vision: Develop a comprehensive L&D strategy aligned with our business goals, with a focus on product training and store operations.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with teams across the organisation to identify training needs, and work closely with subject matter experts to design and deliver effective training solutions and content.
  • Innovation: Implement powerful learning methodologies, including e-learning, micro-learning, and blended learning approaches, to ensure our training is engaging and effective.
  • Technology: Oversee our Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring it is optimised to deliver extraordinary training experiences.
  • Measurement: Establish key performance indicators and metrics to assess the effectiveness of training programs, continually refining and improving our offerings.
  • Budget Management: Lead all aspects of the L&D budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to support our business initiatives and commercial functions – stores, field sales, customers and end users.

What We’re Looking For

  • Industry Expertise: Proven experience in the paint and coatings industry with a deep understanding of our products would be highly beneficial.
  • Strategic Leadership: A track record of developing and executing successful L&D strategies that drive business results.
  • Innovative Mindset: A passion for staying on top of the latest trends in learning and development, and the ability to implement innovative ideas.
  • Collaborative Spirit: An excellent communicator and collaborator who can work with diverse teams and drive alignment with our L&D vision.
  • LMS Mastery: Proficiency in managing Learning Management Systems and an interest in using technology to enhance training.
