About the Role

This role will be responsible for managing inventory levels in Liverpool and our European Hubs, proactively planning, and reacting to changes in the supply chain. Ownership of inventory ERP changes concerning new part setup and maintenance of inventory parts, BOMs, and MPR/MPS. Hands-on approach to maintaining and developing inventory processes and KPIs. Assisting with negotiations of supply contracts, researching new material sources, and managing supplier performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide effective leadership of the day-to-day operations of your team, meeting customer requirements and efficiency targets
  • Support the business by completing compliance checks and internal audit activities for the department/function
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of stocks through cycle counts and management of related KPIs, driving targets and performance to ensure we deliver on time and in full
  • Set up and implement the engineering change control/order process with regard to all communications with suppliers, managing any purchasing related changes through production and minimising the cost of change through redundant stock disposal or obsolescence
  • Analyse financial reporting and monthly stock audits ensuring adequate safety stocks are in place
  • Manage risk and identify new opportunities within the existing supply that reduce cost, waste and line disruption

About you

You will be degree educated and have significant inventory and warehouse management experience and knowledge within a chemical manufacturing environment. You should be passionate about our customers (internal and external), people and processes with a strong desire to continuously develop and improve manufacturing methods within a challenging working environment.

You will be competent in all Microsoft office packages and ERP systems such as Oracle (preferred), SAP or other similar systems and you should have advanced excel skills. You will have the ability to effectively multitask difficult operations, thinking creatively to solve problems and have the tenacity to drive through to a solution.

Aviation Security

Due to the nature of this role the successful candidate will need Aviation Security Clearance. Therefore Aviation Background checks as specified by the Civil Aviation Authority – including a DBS check and 5 years’ employment/educational references – will need to be completed before the successful candidate can start the role.
