Eager to learn and keen to develop a career in a forward-thinking business, you are now looking for an apprenticeship that will equip you to be the best you can be. That is what we can offer you at AkzoNobel. Home to high quality brands, we have been awarded Top Employer status and are recognised globally for being first with ideas, driving innovation and delivering innovative products all of which allow us to build successful partnerships with customers.

We are now offering three-year Apprenticeship as a stepping-stone to a career in R&D. On completion, you will be fully equipped to provide expert technical support. This is a great opportunity to gain real life experience in R&D labs whilst also gaining a fully funded Chemistry degree.

The programme is designed to give you the skills to plan and execute experiments to agreed timescales as well as interpret and report results. You will build your knowledge of relevant experimental, development and/or analytical approaches or techniques as well as learn the importance of H&S in the lab.

You will also develop key transferable skills, such as planning and organisation, problem solving, communication and team working.

To qualify for our scheme, you must be educated to A-level or equivalent, including chemistry and preferentially other science related discipline(s), such as Physics, Maths, Biology etc. Passionate about developing your future career, you must be keen to learn new skills too. You will need a good standard of written and spoken English as well as strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. Proficient in MS Office, you will also enjoy working as part of a team, have an eye for detail and able to organise your workload.
