A graduate in a Science subject, with some industrial experience ideally in the area of coatings technology and an aptitude for problem solving. Awarded Top Employer status, we are a company that forms successful partnerships with customers and are now recruiting a Chemist to join our Food, Caps & Closures and General Line (FCG) Packaging Coatings R&D team in Birmingham.
Key Accountabilities
This is a lab-based position that involves the development of current formulations in response to business and customer needs. You will complete practical work within agreed timescales; planning your own work, recording results, analysing data, drawing conclusions and updating stakeholders as appropriate. The ability to build relationships with colleagues is important.
Experience
You must be a graduate or equivalent in a Science subject, ideally Chemistry. Relevant experience of coatings, formulating and testing is an advantage. You will possess good practical and laboratory skills. Comfortable planning and executing programmes in a methodical and logical manner, you will also have an open, inquisitive approach to technical challenges, a willingness to learn and develop experience, an enthusiasm for problem solving, good communication and relationship building skills.
