About the job
In the role of R&D Chemist at our Bolton site you will be supporting all areas of the business by providing timely and accurate solutions to analytical challenges. The site is a top tier comah site and produces specialist coatings.
Responsibilities include:
- Establishes timelines and resources needed with minimal changes and input from managers.
- Operates under limited supervision, such as planning own work but may require coaching and direction throughout projects
- Accountable for the planning and execution of projects and/or the solution of problems within moderate levels of complexity, from start to finish. Find innovative solutions to Analytical challenges
- Demonstrates ability to alter project scope or propose changes based on feedback.
- Demonstrates knowledge of various technologies.
- Ideally able to interact with customers and host meetings independently.
- Provides team support by encouraging collaboration and providing suggestions/resources to overcome obstacles.
- Effective project management of day to day tasks/requirements for Analytical requests
- Provide updates to key stakeholders against agreed project milestones.
- Generate customer facing reports
- Collaborate with Global Analytical Team
- Conduct testing of samples in order to characterise materials or diagnose factory or customer site issues
- Provide support to numerous stakeholders within the business
The skills and experience we are ideally looking for…
- BSc Chemistry or Equivalent Higher Education Qualification
- Knowledge of protective coatings ideal
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
