R&D Chemistry Industrial Placement – Introduction
If you are expecting a minimum 2:1 in a relevant science subject and are keen to put your learning into practice and gain valuable experience, this is an incredible opportunity to develop your skills in a business that is a world expert in making coatings. We are now recruiting for our R&D Chemistry Industrial Placement programme, giving you the chance to work on ‘real life’ projects in our Product Development Centre, Local Technical Support, or Materials Characterisation Section while being mentored by experienced R&D professionals.
R&D Chemistry Industrial Placement – The Role
- Apply academic theory in a corporate environment.
- Collaborate with team colleagues to plan & carry out experimental to deadlines.
- Interpret and report results in a timely manner.
- Follow standard operating procedures to complete projects to agreed schedules.
- Develop knowledge of formulation science, analytical chemistry & materials characterisation applied to paints.
- Work safely.
R&D Chemistry Industrial Placement – About You
- Expecting a minimum 2:1 degree or equivalent* on a course that offers you the option of taking a Year in Industry.
- Degree subject area should be relevant such as Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Materials Science or combined degrees involving significant chemistry content.
- Good at following procedures & working safely.
- Strong PC skills, an eye for detail & an effective team worker.
- Has ideas & the energy & determination to make them happen.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
- Wants to work in an international environment.
- Enjoys a collaborative working environment where supporting colleagues is key.
