Quality Assurance is the cornerstone of Dacrylate Paints business model. This opportunity has arisen due to the progression of the previous job holder to a Research and Development role. This is a natural progression once the fundamentals of Quality Assurance have been mastered and the perfect starting point for anyone wishing to consider using a technical background for progression into other areas of the business such as R&D, Production, Marketing or Technical Sales.

About the Role: 
To support and maintain the company’s commitment to quality standards in accordance with ISO 9001 through established quality management systems. These include production batch testing, governance of batch pass/referral status, recommendation of corrections and additions to meet the test specification and oversight of production processes, coordinating activities required to improve business performance and subsequent reporting/monitoring. The Quality Assurance Technician will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve anomaly trends, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and uphold Dacrylate Paints commitment to delivering exceptional products to our customers.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Quality assurance testing of production batches to a defined set of test specifications
  2. Regular review of test methods and specifications to exceed internal and external expectations.
  3. Effective stewardship of the Quality Control department to aid productivity in the manufacturing of finished goods
  4. To identify anomaly trends in production batch performance
  5. To gain knowledge of Test Methods used and be able to observe, record and interpret the results.
  6. To gain knowledge of how to correct production batches on a basic level, adjusting into specification
  7. To document and analyse production batch data, monitoring efficiency levels and the ability to establish improved performance
  8. Regular reporting against defined KPI’s and company/departmental targets
  9. Suggest changes to KPI’s upon review of performance results
  10. To evaluate and sign off batch card integrity and production practises to ensure conformance
  11. To conduct regular spot audits of production practices included the method of manufacture and order of addition
  12. Detail authorised sign off on weights and measures checks during the filling stage
  13. To provide quality assurance/complaint investigation reports to other departments as required e.g. R&D, Production, Procurement and Finance
  14. Raw material testing upon delivery against COA’s
  15. Evaluation and filing of raw material COA’s
  16. Generation of finished product COA’s for external customers
  17. Maintenance of instrument calibration and records
  18. To attend R&D and Production team meetings to discuss batch card, QC specification and test method reviews

  2. Maintain detailed and accurate records of test results, issues identified, and resolutions implemented.
  3. Generate reports summarising test outcomes and collaborate with relevant teams to address and rectify any identified issues
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.
  6. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  7. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  8. Good manual dexterity
  9. Knowledge of risk assessments and general good laboratory practice
  10. Advanced Computer literacy using programs such as Excel
  11. Ability to work effectively in co-ordination with other departments
  12. An understanding of the role’s connectivity to the rest of the organisation.
  13. A willingness to prioritise standards of excellence in accordance with company values
  14. Knowledge of coatings technology
  15. Knowledge of manufacturing and industry standards
  16. Knowledge of in-house management processes/systems
  17. Knowledge of the raw materials used in paint formulations including their characteristics, interactions and effects on paint properties
  18. A willingness to affect change and drive innovation, efficiency with a strong commitment to quality
