This position may be based in Marl, Germany, in London or Harlow, UK or in another European location.
Main Accountabilities
- Pricing and margin management activities
- Respond to Sales team inquiries
- Analyse data and provide evidence for pricing and commercial decisions
- Monitor global raw material costs and communicate trends or changes
- Portfolio Management
- Coordinate business-support activities related to launching / modifying / withdrawing products
- Aid development of financial case for new products, R&D, and plant transfers
- Manage product literature and maintain integrity of internal and external product information
- Effective Production Network
- Communicate needs between Commercial and Operations teams
- Ensure profitability by monitoring total cost-to-produce
- Inventory management
- Regulatory & Compliance
- Lead Consumer Materials regarding Regulatory initiatives
- Ensure global compliance and reliable availability of products for our customers
- General request/ such as SDS creation, hazard labelling, specific country requirements, ability to distribute, etc
- Support Product Management strategic initiatives
Requirements
- Degree in a Scientific of Commercial Discipline
- Experience from Specialty Chemicals background desireble
- Minimum 5 years in a Product Management or Commercial/Business Support Role
- Comfortable to converse fluently in English, ideally also in German
- Organization and ability to progress multiple topics simultaneously; agile and able to change priorities frequently
- Interpersonal skills with ability to build effective relationships with key stakeholders and earn the confidence of the sales team and other business functions.
- Tenacious about follow-up
- Ability to analyse detailed data, and to extract and summarise key messages to aid business decision making.
- Good cultural awareness, adaptability and confidence to work across geographic regions.
