Lab Technician
£21,040 per annum

As a Lab Technician you could be involved in helping to create new products and technologies, developing an understanding of key coating attributes or testing and supporting existing technologies, products and processes. This will require autonomous planning of multiple activities simultaneously, as well as the ability to adapt plans and realign priorities to meet the needs of the business. Day to day activities will include using best practice and best solutions to carry-out, evaluate, interpret and maintain ongoing experiments as well as suggest conclusions and next steps from laboratory work programmes. You will also make recommendations for corrections if batch of product is out of specification. Important will be the ability to identify opportunities to, as well as generate ideas for, improving the way we operate.
Ideally you will have general lab experience and will have worked in accordance with quality management systems. You must possess a solid understanding of paint and coatings technologies, products or services and have a customer focussed mindset. You will possess strong numeracy skills, and have experience of independently solving problems involving calculations. You will also be familiar with relevant experimental, development and/or analytical approaches too. Effective at planning your day, you will be comfortable working on your own initiative and as part of a team. Able to follow set procedures and work safely, you will have an eye for detail and interpersonal skills. We would also expect you to possess a good secondary education and 6 BCF Level 3, NACE 1, City & Guilds equivalent.
