Purpose Of Role
The primary purpose of the IT Graduate role is to add value to our operations through the application of business process insights. The role involves developing an advanced understanding in a particular process and related system/application(s), developing or improving the related documentation for users and/or IT support teams.
Main Accountabilities
- Collaborate with various departments, such as finance, commercial, operations, IT, supply chain, etc, to ensure a good understanding of a process and/or system design as well as referencing external best practices from a variety of sources.
- Identify business needs, through conversations, research and analysis, and determining process and/or system solutions to business problems.
- Play a key role in facilitating communication between stakeholders and ensuring that business requirements are clearly understood and prioritised.
- Analysing data to inform business decisions and improve processes, as well as designing appropriate business controls, compliance metrics and/or Process Performance Indicators as required.
- Provide clear, accurate documentation (in English) as appropriate for end-users, managers and technical support staff
- Project Management, including definition, planning, scheduling, delivery reporting, risk & issue resolution and close
- Lead data analysis to support data migration or similar specialist tasks
- Responsible for some aspects of application development (DevOps) or solution configuration
Skills Required
- Analytical Skills: The ability to analyse data to inform business decisions and improve processes.
- Communication Skills: Facilitating communication between stakeholders and ensuring that business requirements are clearly understood and prioritized.
- Technical Skills: Capability to develop an advanced understanding of a particular process and related system/application(s) within a short timeframe
- IT Skills: Strong M365 Office skills (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and some extended application knowledge (e.g. SharePoint, Teams Forms, Planner, etc.) are expected. Advanced Excel (esp. PowerQuery) and basic knowledge in Power Automate and/or Power Apps and/or intermediate skills in PowerBI would be an advantage
- Project Skills: Foundation skills in Project Management, ideally with a recognised Project Management qualification, would be an advantage
- Collaboration Skills: Working with various departments such as finance, commercial, operations, IT, supply chain, etc., to ensure a good understanding of the process and/or system design
- Problem-Solving Skills: Capability to identify business needs, research best practices and propose relevant solutions to business problems
- Data Modelling and Analysis: Capability to understand current and target business data structures and use data modelling and analysis techniques to support data cleanse & migration from old to new data models
- Critical Thinking: Challenging constructively and acting as a critical friend to achieve solutions that are fit for purpose
- Presentation Skills: Formulating and presenting options to improve business process performance based on previous research
