We are a company that forms successful partnerships with customers and are now recruiting a Graduate Engineer to support our Performance Coatings business in Birmingham.

As an Engineer you will assist the Site Responsible Engineer with health and safety related capex improvement plans, process safety management advances and production process efficiency activities and continuous improvement initiatives. This will involve you defining, preparing, leading and executing projects, in line with business needs using project management methods and techniques to deliver key projects. Important will be the ability to demonstrate our relentless pursuit for HSE&S excellence by ensuring activities support AkzoNobel as well as legal requirements. You will also identify opportunities and make suggestions for improvements in production and engineering processes, strategy of control, installations and equipment. You will monitor budgets and document activities performed on processes, installations and equipment too.

A graduate in Chemical Engineering you will possess sound knowledge of Process Engineering, strategy and policies. You enjoy working in a collaborative environment and have well developed communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. You will also enjoy working as part of a team and be committed to achieving results. IT literate, you will have a good appreciation of H&S needs and a dedication to enhance existing skills through continuous professional development activities and training courses.

Experience

of working in a manufacturing environment on a chemical site would be an advantage. As would exposure to an engineering role in a COMAH facility, which is regulated by both the HSE & EA.
