Commercial Administrator – Darwen, UK

Reporting to the Commercial Administration Manager, you will provide a high quality service and administration support to the Commercial areas of the business. These include a network of over 170 Crown Decorating Centres in the UK, Northern Ireland and Eire along with the Marketing, Trade & Retail Sales Teams. It’s a friendly team with passion for our internal customers at the core of what we do. We support each other and play a key part in linking up with colleagues across the business to ensure we meet the needs of our customers in this very varied role

We imagine you will share our ambitions to continually improve and harmonise the way we do things and here are some of the key duties of the role:

  • Extensive use of Microsoft business suite of products, in particular – Excel, Word, Powerpoint & Teams.
  • Telephone support to over 170 Decorating Centres on all aspects of day to day activity and their operating systems.
  • Resolution of supplier invoices for payment for stores & other areas of the business.
  • Creation & maintenance of purchase orders.
  • Material Master creation and maintenance.
  • Price Inquiries
  • Varying monthly report creating and issuing.
  • Monthly points management of our company rewards scheme for Ireland.
  • Housebuilder, Contractor & Customer rebates.
  • Management of the teams shared mailbox which include:
  • Purchase orders from 15 national customers
  • Van/Car Hire
  • Welcome Packs
  • Staff Uniform/Badges
  • Co-ordinating marketing assets & issuing of giveaways for events
  • Customer image requests and product information

What do you need to be successful in this role?

  • You will have a pleasant and helpful telephone manner and the ability to work within tight deadlines to recognised procedures.
  • Good writing skills are essential as written correspondence using mainly email make up a large part of our communication with our stores and our external suppliers.
  • You need to enjoy working in an investigative role which requires patience and persistence.
  • You will be diverse and able to work across several operating systems.
  • You should be open minded to change, embracing new processes and operating systems in the progression of our business.
  • Experience of using the SAP ERP system would be beneficial to the role.
  • Excel is a pivotal tool in our day to day tasks, so there is a requirement for a high skill level in this Microsoft application.
  • Due to the nature of the role, strong organisational skills and a high degree of initiative and self-motivation is essential.
