About the role
This is a hybrid role which will partially permit remote working from home, while at regular intervals also requires presence at one of our production sites at either Cambridge, Liverpool, Hamburg, or any other Domino site, as well as sometimes suppliers visits. You will join an experienced procurement team, which recently transitioned into a Group category manager setup and is in the process of establishing itself as a Centre of Excellence in Domino Group’s new matrix organisation. You will be responsible for strategic as well as to a certain degree operational procurement activities within the international scope of Domino’s Group Purchasing Team for the assigned scope of the category within Coding and Marking, with focus on Lasers.
The purpose of the role is to work with internal customers and external suppliers, to obtain the best value in terms of delivery, cost, quality, and service to Domino’s production sites by developing Category Strategies, optimising, and rationalising the supply base, managing risk and contractual relationships, improving purchasing processes and implementing best practices.
You will support the development of Domino’s Group Purchasing organisation to meet the changing business environment and long-term strategic vision. There will be opportunities to deliver increased value and extensive cross-functional engagement with other Domino professionals across the global network.
- The purpose of this role is to Generate, update and review Category Strategies for Coding and Marking with focus on Lasers, Scanners Optics, in close cooperation with the relevant stakeholders, such as NPD, R&D and Product Management.
- Manage the relationship with suppliers as well as internal customers.
- Research, locate, audit, and introduce new capable sources.
- Increase profitability through delivering cost savings against item standard costs, favourable Purchase Price Variances, cost avoidance and inventory reduction.
- Investigate, quantify, and effectively mitigate risk in the supply base.
- Establish, negotiate, and manage Contracts / Supply Agreements.
- Rationalise and optimise the supply base
- Assuring Domino’s CSR requirements are met
- Manage obsolescence in the supply chain to ensure line continuity.
- Improve processes and the utilisation of business systems and tools.
- Maintain purchasing data integrity in the ERP database.
- Report and further develop KPI-sets relevant to the role.
About you
- We are looking for an experienced category buyer/manager able to and interested in working in a strategic sourcing role within a fast-paced, technical environment paired with strong commercial awareness. You should have sound technical understanding and analytical abilities as well as excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management capabilities. Key skills we are looking for are: Able to develop and execute Procurement strategy
- End-to-end Purchasing expertise (strategic and operational) related to sourcing material components and assemblies for manufacturing of technical products
- Up-to-date category knowledge and experience in purchasing Lasers, Scanners, Optics and further hardware components in coding and marking range, e.g. within ink jet technologies (TIJ, PIJ, CIJ, TTO), will be an asset.
- Good, organised approach with strong project management skills and hands-on mentality
- Customer focused, with experience of working with and leading complex cross functional stakeholder groups through purchasing processes to deliver organizational benefits.
- Self-motivated with good organisational skills and the ability to work under own initiative.
- Working knowledge of finance and budgeting, coupled with good analytical skills.
- Understanding of the tangible and intangible value that Purchasing adds to the Business.
- Proven track record of working with Compliance, Procurement and Legal best practices.
- CIPS Qualified, or working towards will be a plus
- Knowledge of ERP required, experience with Oracle will be a plus.
