Job Description

Work closely with the Managing Director to co-ordinate customer requirements

Maintaining regular contact with customers via email/phone

Processing customer orders for consumables, co-ordinating requirements with suppliers, stock control

Assisting the MD with projects, duties to include following up customer enquiries, liaising with suppliers to provide relevant information to be forwarded on to customers, briefing suppliers/service providers on project requirements

Managing/updating customer contact database including web-based research into new potential target customers

Assisting with Social Media and supplying content to website provider for updates

Some prior work experience in a business or industrial environment.  An appreciation of the importance of developing customer relationships so must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Must be able to demonstrate drive and determination to succeed, to think creatively and be highly self -motivated.

We are young, dynamic and growing business working closely with our suppliers for whom we are exclusive agents and distributors in the UK and Ireland.  We provide tailored product and service solutions to paint and coatings manufacturers and distributors.  This includes process machinery, tinting machinery, colorants and colour sampling materials.  The role involves relationship building with personnel in senior management positions, sales/marketing and technical – both R&D and operations.  The role will very much shadow the MD, particularly in the early stages, as there is a lot to learn.  Should the right person rise to the challenge, this role has great future potential to grow with the business.  Therefore the right person needs to be very focused, happy to work partly independently, able to liaise with foreign suppliers (communicating in English) and current/potential customers

 

Required qualifications

Educated to ‘A’ level standard, Maths and English Language GCSE minimum c grade

Some exposure to science and/or business-based disciplines eg. Chemistry, Engineering, Business Studies.  Good IT skill set.
