Our OEM business supplies automotive coatings to global car manufacturers. Our close partnership with our customers is particularly important to us. Together we develop innovative application processes and optimise production. The cost-per-unit (CPU) concept is a particular form of this close partnership. The car manufacturer no longer pays for the amount of paint delivered but instead for each perfectly coated body. BASF is the leading provider of e-coat products, which are primarily used for priming car bodies and automobile components.

Our Refinish business supplies Glasurit and R-M refinish paints and provides staff training to bodyshops which respray damaged vehicles. Our specific focus is on eco-efficient waterborne and high-solids coatings with low solvent content. Our automotive refinish coatings are approved by most of the leading automotive manufacturers for use in their authorised bodyshops.
