Job Description

In Partnership with Salford and Trafford Engineering Group Training Association (STEGTA). Academic training to begin July 2022

Eager to learn and keen to develop a career in a forward-thinking business, you are now looking for an apprenticeship that will equip you to be the best you can be. That is what we can offer you at AkzoNobel. Home to high quality brands, we have been awarded Top Employer status and are recognised globally for being first with ideas, driving innovation and delivering innovative products all of which allow us to build successful partnerships with customers.

We are now offering a three-year Level 3 Science Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship as a stepping-stone to becoming a Technical Service Representative. On completion, you will be fully equipped to provide expert technical support and training to internal and external customers on the use and application of company products, equipment and documentation.

The apprenticeship will enable you to build your knowledge and talents by involving you in range of real-world projects and activities. You could find yourself working on new product launches, preparing technical documentation and training materials as well as booking customers to attend learning sessions at our training centre. You will deliver periodical progress reports and collate customer feedback too. In time, you will also get involved in providing product training to our technical field team.

You will also develop key transferable skills, such as planning and organisation, problem solving, communication and team working.

Passionate about developing your future career, you must be keen to learn new skills and to work in a customer facing role. You will need a good standard of written and spoken English and a positive ‘can do’ attitude too. You will also enjoy working as part of a team, have an eye for detail and able to organise your workload.

Apprentices without level 2 English and mathematics will need to achieve this level prior to completion of their apprenticeship. Apprentices must complete a level 3 or 4 qualification in a science or technology discipline relevant to their occupation, which is recognised for professional registration by RSciTech or Eng Tech, prior to completing the apprenticeship’s end-point assessment.

At AkzoNobel, we believe we can only grow our business as fast as we grow our people, so if you want to be an Apprentice in a business that will invest in you and give you the opportunity to develop, please visit our website via the link.

Please note: In the event of a high candidate response to this vacancy we may close the application period earlier than the date shown.
