The Erasmus project + FUTUREfacing project

The British Coatings Federation (BCF) will take part in a consortium developing training materials in the area of wood and furniture coatings and finishings. The project brings together partners from Spain, Estonia, and the UK and will run over the course of three years with the aim to promote and improve learnings about carpentry and furniture finishes.

This project has been approved for funding under Erasmus+. The project will develop a) Three Intellectual outputs: a training guidebook, a varnishing virtual simulator and a specific database on finishes and coatings; b) One Multiplier Event: an international conference on finishings and coatings; c) Three joint training activities for teachers d) Dissemination activities: web platform, workshops, newsletters etc.

February 2019: BCF’s Tom Bowtell discussed the FUTUREfacing project at the U.K. Tribology event. The focus was on future materials needed in the cities of the future, and attended by over 30 U.K. universities.
