Job Overview


Responsible for establishing and the delivery of the business plan, budgets and targets for the specified Geographical Area of responsibility to meet the business requirements for sales growth


  • Management of both the direct and sales team activities ensuring all sales revenue is maximised and sales targets are achieved
  • Identification of, and responsible securing sales opportunities with the key customer base including maintenance of constructive customer relationships
  • Coordinate and ensure the effective use of all resources, internal and external
  • To design effective Business Plans for the geographical area specified and to organise quarterly reviews with both the Regional Sales Manager/Sales Director and business partners
  • Lead and manage the sales team in achievement of the business plan
  • Carry out demographic studies (territory audits) to establish the most appropriate method of market entry e.g. direct sales or distributor
  • Establish Key Target and Prospect accounts methodology with our partners or for any direct sales activity
  • Set up and maintain efficient project tracking with in house and external sales resources
  • Coordinate and organise the provision of in company resources required to support the business plan
  • To organise and lead regular, minuted review meetings with in house and external sales resources so there is a clear vision and direction for all sales channels
  • Set out market strategies and ensure implementation
  • Assist in developing strategy for growth and diversification
  • Report on opportunities and threats to the business
  • Support our partners and any direct sales team in meeting their objectives
  • Monitor the performance of the sales team and discuss that performance against budget and target
  • Make out a commercial case for any new product and service requirements for the business
  • Assist in the production of product design briefs required to meet business objectives
  • Setting pricing levels and guidelines that will achieve the correct balance between turnover and profitability
  • Taking an active role in any relevant Trade organisations
  • Planning and providing monthly demand forecasts to assist colleagues in production and provide agreed service level to customers
  • Claims avoidance and negotiation
  • Ensure regular liaison and positive relationships with purchasing accounts and specifiers
  • Encourage and develop a team culture both within own team and across the company
  • Operate Personal Development plans and organise effective training and development for individuals and the team
  • Achievement of effective communication both within own team and between teams
  • Ensure a proactive approach to implementation of all H&S and security requirements
