Purpose Of The Role

To provide accounting support for the receivables discounting program within the Synthomer Group Treasury department.

Main Accountabilities

  • Run reports from various SAP systems to extract/receive files listing all open AR items and the new invoices fitting the criteria for discounting and confirm what is to be included at defined frequency
  • Analyse and reconcile the items accepted by the banks in their discounting arrangements
  • Manage/monitor receipt of funds and prepare/submit for posting ledger entries to correctly account for sold and unsold receivables
  • Track and reconcile the value of the “unsold” portion of the financed receivable which is still held on our balance sheet and provide support for account reconciliations and audit
  • Reconcile the discounted receivables monthly/at a frequency to be determined – to statements/record held on banking portals
  • Work with Group Finance and shared service center to ensure support is available for factoring related matters
  • Provide analysis and support to the Finance team to include additional Synthomer entities and customers in the relevant structures as needed

Skills, Experience & Knowledge

  • Educated to minimum 5 x A-C grade GCSE’s, A-Level. Working toward AAT Level 2 + desirable
  • Study in a field of finance/accounting preferable
  • High level of attention to detail essential
  • Ability to work with new processes that will change and adapt to ensure process efficiency
  • Self- starter able to both follow direction and be pro-active in suggesting and driving process improvement
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, written and verbal
  • Ability to process data accurately and to defined timelines
  • Intermediate level of Excel competency – adept at managing large volumes or data and ensuring the integrity of the output using Pivots and Look Up functions.
  • Experience with an SAP or ERP systems desirable
