Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Entering supplier invoices in our database and matching to purchase order information where applicable, determining authorisation routing for variances and non PO invoices
  • Assisting with processing of scheduled payment runs & ad hoc payments in our database and once authorised generate physical payment via relevant payment method such as BACS, cheque or transfer
  • Responding to both internal and external queries about supplier invoices and supplier accounts, referring concerns to the Group Purchase Ledger Manager where appropriate
  • Assisting with Month end activities to close the purchase ledger; check open items totals in each purchase ledger agree to those in the General Ledger
  • Providing cover for the Group Purchase Ledger Manager when absent, particularly in relation to BACS processing, cheque and transfer payments
  • Assisting in the reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Ensuring all filing/record-keeping related to Purchase Ledger documents is undertaken in an accurate and timely manner

  • Ability to input data both quickly and accurately
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a team and assist or carry out other duties during periods of high workload, sickness, holidays and emergencies
  • Experience of working in a Finance Department preferred
  • A levels or equivalent preferred
