Job Overview

As a Senior Innovation Scientist within Sweet and Beverage Innovation you will be part of a team developing new and useful products: flavourings, flavor technologies and natural extracts. These new products are based on global and European market needs combined with Sensient’s innovative technologies. As a Senior Innovation Scientist your key responsibility is to assist in the creation, development and delivery of these products through project management and practical work.

Responsibilities:

  • Management of multiple projects
  • Development and delivery of new flavourings, flavour technologies and in particular, Sensient Natural Extracts
  • Management and delivery of assigned Sweet and Beverage Innovation projects:
    – Scientific literature and patents reviews
    – Design, conduction, reporting of experiments
    – Development of application recipes
    -Development of products for customers
  • Hands on practical work, including but not limited to:
    – Safe operation of and development of various laboratory and pilot plant equipment to produce natural extracts and flavours
    – Sweet and beverage applications (e.g. recipe development)
  • Collaboration with sensory, analytical, technical, and manufacturing teams to deliver products
  • Collaboration with marketing and sales teams to assist product adoption into market
  • To fully document work to the level of external publication and patent disclosure
  • To develop communication tools and strategy for delivering new knowledge and products internally and externally
  • Supervision and training of staff
