About The Role
Printing technologies are fascinating technical challenges for an electronics engineer. In addition to this Domino thinking beyond the printer with a wide range of products and new potentials such as cloud interfaces and use of machine imaging for print quality assessment etc. The role also offers significant opportunity to develop coaching and leadership skills and work towards a leadership role in the team.
This role fits within the Electronic -New product development team within the electronics team for the Domino group. The Domino group includes teams in Bar Hill UK (11 engineers) as well as Domino Print and Apply Sweden, 2 engineers, Domino Laser Group Germany, 4 engineers, Lake imaging UK, 2 engineers. The role will probably be reporting to one of the principle engineers and after a probation period to learn our systems involve mentoring or even managing more junior engineers.
Key deliverables will be the interaction in the product development team to design, test and deliver of production ready electronics and documentation as part of successful new product development. Key to this will be taking responsibility for understanding the core requirements and managing workload and supporting and coaching less experienced engineers.
A high level of autonomy is desirable. We have a team that has a larger number of young engineers and apprentices and reasonable number of very experienced engineers but very few engineers in the middle, It is therefore desired to hire a senior engineer with new skills and experience that they can bring to the team who will very quickly be able to be autonomous in their own work and step in to a leadership role for the less experienced engineers
In office working is preferred to support the team. However, hybrid work is accepted with the commitment to work in the office an agreed number of days per week. It will be possible after settled into the team to work from home more regularly providing deliveries and the support of engineers is owned.

We are looking for someone who fits the following criteria:
- General electronics design
- Analogue interfacing and sensing
- Digital design fundamentals
- Testing fault finding and proving of designs
- Ability to code scripts as necessary for testing (python is on the rise)
- An understanding of the product development process to meet the needs of the customer
- Ability to deliver high quality documented designs
- Co-operative working, willingness to accept and take part in peer reviews to maintain quality and avoid preventable mistakes.
Development opportunities
- Being the lead electronics engineer responsible for a new product delivery.
- Taking on the responsibility for engineers as a line manger
- Working towards principal engineer where cross function working is core and there is co-ownership for the overall development delivery
- Taking responsibility of a for the electronics engineering of specific group (e.g. lake imaging) or product range.
