Summary:
  • Assisting the Director of Loss Prevention - EMEAI & ANZ, to reduce all internal/external Loss Prevention threats to the company
  • Effectively manage all identified risks through the development, implementation & maintenance of proactive loss prevention, projects, policies, procedures & programmes designed to protect the Company's EMEAI; human; technological; financial and information assets, as well as its brands and reputaiton
  • These responsibilities pertain but are not limited to all business operations of Consumer Brands, Global Supply Chain, Performance coatings Group and Corporate functions in EMEAI
  • Required to work in partnership to support the internal controls and anti-bribery compliance program at multiple locations, utilising both internal and external resources in support of the company's planned initiatives
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the proactive & cost effective protection of Sherwin-Williams EMEAI assets
  • Assist in the development and implementation of effective Loss Prevention policies, procedures and administrative controls, utilising recognised risk analysis methodologies that are focused on the reduction or elimination of incidents/events that contribute to or cause losses of corporate assets
  • Work closely with Corporate Internal Audit and Group Security to measure the effectiveness of site security, and internal control issues; identify and recommend cost effective/efficient solutions to correct weakness; and assist and consult in the implementation of the recommendations since damage, disruption or loss would have a serious or long-term financial and operational impact on the corporation
  • Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive Loss Prevention survey/audit programs that are designed to consistently monitor, regulate and report on the Company's Loss Prevention strengths, weaknesses & continuous improvement opportunities within EMEAI
  • As directed implement appropriate Loss Prevention plans and control techniques necessary to protect against fraudulent access, disclosure or theft of proprietary information sabotage, and property damage to critical records, functions or assets of the corporation
  • Investigate in an appropriate manner all internal/external incidents of dishonesty or irregularities that impact on the profitability of the corporation; or where there exists the possibility that a criminal act has been committed on the corporate property, or against the corporate interests, to determine cause, extent of loss, and provide appropriate controls to prevent future occurences
  • This will entail direct involvement in the criminal justice system, including presentation of evidence and testimony in accordance with legal procedure
Major tasks performed by this position:
  • Collects, analyses and identifies causes and trends of security and operational control weaknesses, losses and circumstances, and provides direct support and consultation to address the vulnerabilities contributing to these losses
  • Assists in the development of training programs to promote Loss Prevention topics which include; anti-bribery laws, staff safety, asset protection and whistleblowing, etc. Ensuring the clear delivery of consistent Loss Prevention messages highlighting the risks, impacts and potential consequences to the company as a result of negligence, non-compliance or malpractice
  • Assists in the development and implementation of on-site facility evaluations to reduce security-related vulnerabilities in all aspects of operations; ensuring compliance with internal controls and; reporting on findings and makes cost-effective recommendations to improve overall procedures
  • Completes investigations into actual or alleged security-related losses of assets or resources; circumstances of actual or alleged employee misconduct; and incidents of actual criminal activity occurring business operations
Technical, managerial or other issues:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a multi-layered Loss Prevention Program which is cost-effective, integrates and reinforces standards which protect overall corporate assets, and supports the corporate business needs and budgetary objectives through effective methods and procedures
  • At a tactical level, identify through risk analysis and respond effectively to Loss Prevention matters in relation to changing operational and procedural priorities
  • Recommend and implement cost effective & efficient measures to reduce these risks
  • With the co-operation of business leaders, implement Loss Prevention standards across the Company's large & diverse EMEAI business estate to reduce costs and improve operation efficiencies
  • Demonstrate management capability and a style appropriate to the Loss Prevention role, which rapidly gains the trust and support from management and personnel
  • Tactful and appropriate care to be exercised in investigations and overall Loss Prevention programs to reduce potential liabilities to the corporation if appropriate constraints and safeguards are not employed
Principle accountabilities:
  • Proactively deliver Loss Prevention programs and compliance measures to ensure the physical security and welfare of corporate personnel
  • Assist the Director of Loss Prevention EMEAI & ANZ to coordinate and monitor all security and country specific mandated compliance related programs to prevent economic loss to the Corporation from incidents, which have a negation financial impact on overall resources and assets of the corporation
  • At the local level provide guidance and assistance for the elimination of threats and assets; discouragement of behaviour that threatens assets; implementation of measure to effectively protect assets; recovery efforts to return to proper operating conditions; and revised measure to improve or attain acceptable levels of protection in all SW EMEAI facilities
  • Reduce specific and overall losses, shortages and financial drains on corporate assets and resources through the proactive delivery of specific Loss Prevention Programs and methods
  • Raise awareness and understanding of Loss Prevention within the EMEAI business units through the effective and timely delivery of Loss Prevention Training and Awareness initiaitves
  • Provide professional Loss Prevention investigation services and reduce existing/subsequent risks to the company through the diligent, timely and lawful investigation and accurate reporting of incidents
