Job Overview
Summary:
  • To meet agreed timelines and service levels for; approvals/certifications, technical service requests, and customer sample orders
  • To drive continuous improvement in processes and operations utilised within the team, the department and the site
Responsibilities:
  • To deputise - in specific aspects - in the absence of the team leader
  • Plan, execute and oversee projects and project related tasks
  • Interact with suppliers, vendors, site functions
  • Provide effective training and development to members of the team
  • Participate in continuous improvement groups within the Technical Department
  • Drive improvements in; health and safety, quality, efficiency
  • Assist in the production and development of laboratory/technical procedures
  • Represent the company when required at test laboratories and customer sites (this may include visits to sites overseas)
  • Present results, and conduct 'knowledge share' sessions within the product support & testing team
  • Encourage and develop a team culture within own team, the department and across the company as a whole
  • Ensure a proactive approach to implementation of all H&S and security requirements
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills, recognises anomalies
Requirements:
  • Several years coatings experience
  • Protective coatings knowledge
  • Fire Protection Coatings knowledge (optional)
  • Health & Safety improvement knowledge
  • Quality/inspection improvement knowledge
  • Strong communicator
  • Team player
  • Ability to mentor
  • Drive for constant improvement and the ability to challenge people/processes
