Farrow and Ball – Payroll & Benefits Manager, Wimborne (Hybrid)

We are currently looking for a determined, pro-active, diligent individual to join our People & Development team in Wimborne as a Payroll & Benefits Manager. We are offering this position on a full-time, hybrid basis.

Reporting into the People & Culture Director, you will be responsible for processing global payrolls, including ‘start-to-finish’ processing for our UK/North America territories. You will use your communication skills to liaise closely with internal departments on all payroll matters, overseeing and providing joint management of the People Operations Coordinator.

What we expect from you as our Payroll & Benefits Manager:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurate and timely processing of Global Payrolls, including ‘start–to-finish’ processing for the UK/North America and liaison with appointed Agents for the EU
  • Provide joint line management of the People Operations Co-ordinator together with the People Operations Manager
  • Oversee the help, assistance and advice provided by the People Operations Co-ordinator which is required to Group employees on any Payroll or employee benefit associated queries
  • Liaise closely with internal departments, especially People Operations, on all Payroll and relevant employee benefits matters
  • Accurate and timely payments of all required employee and employer taxes, pension contributions etc to statutory entities or designated service providers
  • Accurate and timely provision of all Payroll Year End information to relevant statutory entities, including P11D and PSA to HMRC in the UK
  • Preparation and submission of “time and attendance” data for Departments across the Business. Prepare reports and statistical information as required
  • Oversee the People Operations Co-ordinator in liaising with Group pension, healthcare and childcare voucher providers including arranging distribution of pension packs, presentations, 401k plans, employee details maintenance and other benefits administration as required
  • Produce, input and reconcile all Payroll related journals; complete monthly reconciliations of all relevant General Ledger Payroll Control Accounts
  • Processing providing weekly agency timesheets for factory and warehouse staff

Key Attributes:

  • Proven experience in Payroll processing and dealing with statutory entities, international experience (particularly North America would be an advantage)
  • Proven experience in dealing with employee related benefits – administration of schemes, compliance with local country regulatory and statutory requirements
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication and liaison skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Used to using own initiative when attempting to resolve issues
  • Diploma of Payroll Management or equivalent qualification is preferred but not essential
  • Self starter
  • Proactive and challenging in outlook
  • Methodical
