Responsibilities
As Lead Maintenance Engineer your responsibilities will include:
- Create a link between the Asset Manager and maintenance technicians, supporting hands-on responsibilities while also assisting in strategic decisions and developments on site. Additionally, serving as the primary technical contact for contractors and coordinating maintenance tasks and guiding the technicians in daily work.
- Prepare and schedule maintenance activities in accordance with production management, focusing on improving scheduled maintenance and implementing digital maintenance planning tools. Additionally, you will work on high-priority maintenance issues and support and lead the maintenance technicians concerning incident management.
- Lead and contribute to Engineering projects, from pre-feed engineering to construction stage, serving as one of the main contacts for engineering activities within the project. Ensuring compliance with BASF guidelines and providing post-project operational performance reporting.
- Support Asset Management activities to ensure change processes are carried out according to BASF requirements, identify technical measures to maintain plant reliability and availability, and oversee spare part management while preparing and monitoring Maintenance KPIs.
Qualifications
- Ideally educated to degree level in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and demonstrable experience working in Engineering in the Chemical Industry and related projects. In addition to demonstrating strong experience in maintenance work, with a focus on mechanical engineering and/or C&I activities.
- A high level of Computer literacy is required in addition to an advanced knowledge and user experience of maintenance programmes and concepts (e.g. Risk Based Management, Bad Actor Analysis, etc.) and legal inspection requirements.
- A high level of self-motivation and good (project) leadership, communication and network skills alongside with a structured, solution-oriented and self-reliant way of working. “Completer-finishing” mindset.
- Flexibility is essential, to support critical breakdowns on site and attend out of hours to support the maintenance team when required.
