Job Description

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To The Following

The Communications Lead will be accountable for driving and owning the overall communications strategy, including thought leadership initiatives, corporate and product storytelling, media strategy, content creation and agency management across the United Kingdom and Ireland. This position will serve as trusted advisor to country leadership and will lead localization of strategic narratives, campaigns and activations aligned to local dynamics.

  • Define local priorities, narratives and campaigns
  • Develop local communications plans based on global strategy and local priorities
  • Drive earned, paid, shared and owned media strategy across the four countries. Accountable for strategy, execution and KPIs
  • Lead creation of materials including messaging, Q&As, byline articles/opinion pieces and social media content
  • Serve as trusted counsel and partner to country leadership and serve as an extended staff member of the local Managing Director
  • Execute integrated comms across all HP narrative pillars, NPIs, campaigns & activations
  • Drive product reviews program to build awareness and showcase HP innovation
  • Develop and own relationships with local Marketing and Category teams; identify opportunities to partner
  • Develop, hone and manage relationships with relevant national, business, trade and channel publications as well as key influencers
  • Own and lead local crisis comms and external response
  • Manage agency budget and execution
  • Reports to Head of Northwest Europe Communications

The ideal candidate is a passionate, driven self-starter with excellent writing skills, meticulous attention to detail, outstanding business acumen and the ability to work under pressure in a complex environment supporting various stakeholders.

Desired Skills And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or Communications (preferred)
  • 6 years of experience, working for a name brand, tech brand or tech PR agency
  • Self-starter with ability to work effectively in a hybrid team
  • Experience working with a global communications team
  • Media-savvy with experience across earned, owned, shared and paid media
  • Blend of strategic mindset with hands-on communications skills
  • Ability to build relationships with key journalists, influencers and analysts
  • Experience in managing multiple vendors and/or agencies
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to draft executive-ready content
  • Exceptional project management and prioritization skills
  • Superior communications and presentation skills
  • Experience managing a budget and day-to-day operations
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
